I am an enthusiast in food innovation with a strong interest in the latest food trends and food sustainability. I love attending food-tech exhibitions and conferences, exchanging ideas with founders, trying out their products and watching documentaries regarding the food supply chain.

According to World Health Organisation, obesity has nearly tripled since 1975 worldwide. Over 800 million people are suffering from hunger, yet 1.3 billion tonnes of food waste are produced each year. It is surprising to see that obesity, hunger and food wastage could co-exist simultaneously. This calls for a massive change in the way we eat.

With the revolution in food technology, I am a firm believer that food can be more sustainable for the environment without compromising its taste and nutrients. Looking at how the food industry has transformed in recent years, with companies turning research ideas into actual products and scaling novel food production, I am excited to see the future of food innovation!

Personally, food is so much more than just its taste and the calories it provides. Food connects us with our friends and family bringing us closer to each other as we gain a deeper understanding of one’s culture and history.

I am looking forward to meeting people passionate about the food innovation space and concerned about the environmental issues of our food system. Cell-cultured meat is no longer science fiction, I’m eager to see what else the food industry has to offer!
